For around five years, I've kept the book "Women Who Run with the Wolves" close to me.
It's a treasure, a bible, a must-have for every woman.
As an artist, it provides me with limitless inspiration. Whenever I feel exhausted, need a break, or want to refocus, I love opening this book and reading a few stories. Each time, it unlocks something deep within me, helping me understand my emotions or providing a breath of fresh air. I feel connected to a global community of sisters and empowered.
In this article, I am once more sharing some of my favorite quotes along with my own artworks that I created, inspired by the connection between women and wolves.
Feel free to share these photos and quotes and make sure to tag me!

“I hope you will go out and let stories, that is life, happen to you, and that you will work with these stories... water them with your blood and tears and your laughter till they bloom, till you yourself burst into bloom.”
― Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves

“The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.”
― Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves

“The psyches and souls of women also have their own cycles and seasons of doing and solitude, running and staying, being involved and being removed, questing and resting, creating and incubating, being of the world and returning to the soul-place.”
― Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves

“The maiden represents the heartfelt and formerly sleepy psyche. But a warrior-heroine lies beneath her soft exterior. She has the endurance of the lone wolf. She is able to bear the dirt, grime, betrayal, hurt, loneliness, and exile of the initiate. She is able to wander the underworld and return, enriched, to the topside world.”
– Clarissa Pinkola Estes.

When we are connected to the instinctual self, to the soul of the feminine which is natural and wild, then instead of looking over whatever happens to be on display, we say to ourselves, "what am I hungry for?".

“Bone by bone, hair by hair, Wild Woman comes back. Through night dreams, through events half understood and half remembered...”
―Clarissa Pinkola Estés,Women Who Run With the Wolves
