Paint Your Way Back to Yourself: A Gentle Invitation to Slow down and Create

Softness, Wildness and Color: A Creative Way to Nourish Your Soul

There are days when everything moves too fast. The to-do lists pile up, our minds run ahead of us, and suddenly, we’ve forgotten what it feels like to simply be.

I’ve learned, over and over again, that creating art is one of the most healing ways to come home to myself. Not just as an artist, but as a woman...a feeling being, a dreaming being, a wild and tender soul.

When I sit down with my watercolor palette, something inside me softens. The water carries the pigment across the paper like a little river of emotion, and I follow it, gently.

No plan, no pressure. Just breath and color. Just me, showing up.

These watercolor pieces were born during the New Snake Year season in February… they carry an invitation to turn inward, to be still, to soften — and to gently expand from within.

Painting these watercolors was a quiet, transformative experience… a way of letting what lives deep inside me rise to the surface, one brushstroke at a time.

Finding inspiration around you

This past few days, the weather has been so beautiful and sunny in south west of France, I felt like taking time for myself to breath and go to the beach. I took my watercolor set from Charvin with me and a small paper block I just bought from Clairefontaine.
Painting at the beach is very relaxing and being surrounded by water, shells and nature is always inspiring

STOP over-thinking...

I often say this to the women around me: you don’t need to be an artist to create. You only need a little time, a quiet corner, and the courage to listen to yourself.

Let your hand choose the color. Let your mood guide the movement. Let it be messy. Let it be yours.

When I paint, I’m not trying to make something perfect. I’m just letting my wild, feminine energy breathe. I’m letting stories come through me... the quiet stories, the untamed ones, the ancestral ones.

Sometimes I think I’m painting for the women who couldn’t. The ones who silenced their voices, who never had time for softness or self-expression.

Art can be a sanctuary. A small ritual. A way to say: I matter. My feelings matter. My spirit matters.

So this is just a little invitation, from one heart to another.

Take ten minutes. Pour yourself a cup of tea. Light a candle. Let your hands wander through paint, pastel, pencil, anything. Let go of the outcome. Let it be a moment just for you.

If you prefer, take a walk in nature and bring with you your watercolor set and some paper... let your intuition guide you.

Because you deserve to feel whole. You deserve to feel free. You deserve to feel you.
